George Orwell : Animal Farm (Review)

We are living in the 21st century, the century we proclaim to be the most advanced, literate, independent, socially equal and what not. But I was amazed when I went through this book as I could easily relate those things which were mentioned by the author in 1945 actually existed even today. When we talk about equality we believe that all men, women, religion, caste, and color to be as equal. But the question is, "Is it really so?" Are we still not facing the communalism in the society? The book revolves around the story on the same issue. We, humans, have a very common tendency of suppressing the weaker section by the powerful one and impose its beliefs on them. The author George Orwell has beautifully explained this in his book. The story starts when on an animal farm all the animals collectively decide to rebel against the human's atrocity. It was found that they use animals according to their need and later slaughter them when the requirement is over. All the ani...

Richard Bach : Jonathan Livingston Seagull (Review)

A decent fable, written by Richard Bach, based on the life of a Gull who lived on the shore. The main aim of their life was to collect food for their survival. The story is a message to all those who follow their passion irrespective of what society thinks about them. There is a basic human tendency which complies with Newton's first law that a body remains in the original state unless external force applied. Whenever one tries to do anything new and innovative, people misjudge him and try to demotivate him. This message is beautifully described through the life of a similar Gull who wanted to lead a different life than his flock. The Gull only wanted to fly as every day was the last day of its life. After a lot of practice and hard work, it finally succeeded to attain a record speed. But owing to the tendency of their flock, they ousted the Gull. But as the saying goes, "God helps those who help themselves", the Gull never left its path and worked vigorously for ...

Paulo Coelho : The Alchemist (Review)

The novel is written in a very beautiful and systematic manner. The story revolves around a boy who comes out of his comfort zone to accomplish his dream. Actually, the story is not just about the kid in the book but every individual out there in this world. Nothing is possible unless we come out of our comfort zone. Albeit we tend to remain in the cocoon but this is not the solution. The world we are living in today would not have been the same if every individual had thought for his comfort zone. One can only grow and achieve when it hits out its limitations and boundaries. Every successful human being we talk about has done something different from others is able to achieve what he/she has today. The message of the book is "When you desire something from the heart even the whole universe conspires you to achieve it." The message is very strong and clear that one should follow his dream no matter what it takes to it. The story is all about the boy who used to be ...

Andre Agassi : OPEN (Review)

A big big big Tennis Fan and just got amazed to read the magnificent, one of the best Autobiography rated ever OPEN by legendary tennis player Andre Agassi. Also acclaimed as The Punisher for to make sure that every point needed sweat like hell. 8 times Grand Slam winner, only 4th player to win all the grand slams and Gold in Olympics. Married to another women's legendary tennis superstar Steffi Graff (22 Grand Slams plus Olympic Gold). The novel is very inspiring and emotional that how a middle-class boy who hated tennis all his life, superseded the many legendary players and established his own aura and image. After reading it felt like I have lived a life with him, his journey from a 7-year old kid hitting machine ball in the backyard to end up world number 1, 60 career titles and what not. The world has seen one of the best rivalries between Sampras And Agassi, his fight with Boris Becker and even the divorce from TV sensation Brooke Shields. This man has all i...

Sidney Sheldon : Tell Me Your Dreams (Review)

It started on a high note, Someone was stalking her, someone was behind her but Ashley was not able to identify the devil. She was in peril and was scared after that incident. Ashley Patteson, daughter of famous Dr. Steven Patterson, worked for a Computer Graphic company. She never wanted to come to London. But her father forced her to leave her boyfriend and go for higher studies. Later she planned to run away with him but he found dead and castrated on the same night. Nobody knew what had happened to him and who did it to him. Toni and Alette were good friends and used to share a lot with each other. Alette was fond of painting but was very introvert. On the other hand, Toni had a very lovely voice. Alette was in love with Richard whom she met in a store, but he found dead and castrated soon. Toni's boyfriend was not different. The whole scene was very squalid. Ashley got a threat message and she called Deputy Sam Blake but he was not different too. Th...

Only a few months back, I was not really into novels. Even read my first just 2 months back. But now as it is something my necessity -I am just loving it. Just finished "The Partner" by John Grisham, a thriller !! The novel started on a light note by the abduction of a renowned lawyer in New Orleans who died in a car wreck 4 years ago. He was in Brazil with his secretary cum girlfriend who used to take care of all his deeds and the money he stole after the week of his death. Patrick Lanigan married and father of a 6-year-old daughter was working for a firm in this city with other four Partners. He was a man of commitment and honest with his profession. After his abduction by some local mafia, he was given pathetic bruises on his naked body just to get the idea of where he had put the ninety million dollars and how?
